Education/Outreach
Part of protecting this place is making the effort to educate and reach out to those living or visiting inside or outside of the watershed. We do this by holding workshops, environmental education classes, encouraging public participation in local government, and openly inviting everyone to partake in watershed activities. We have been awarded in the past for our education efforts and we like to focus on school children. Often, we hold outings where the local school is invited to help monitor the water, sample bugs, and just plain get out and move around in the natural environment. The Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve also has been hosting public outings in the watershed since its inception in 1995. Whatever the season, we find a reason to get outdoors and enjoy what we are working to preserve. Most of the events begin at 10am on Saturdays and we meet in Big Bay to carpool to our area. Check out the Events to see what is upcoming!
