Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve will celebrate 19 years of memories and hard work protecting of some of the most treasured places in Marquette County. Join us at our event from 6 -10:30 pm at Ore Dock Brewing Company with events to include: a chili cook off for local restaurants, the ever-popular and unique silent auction, Patagonia raffle prizes, and live local music.
We will offer donated chili from eleven restaurants around the area which will be competing in a taste testing competition voted on by you! These restaurants include: BabyCakes Muffin Company, Bayou Inn Restaurant & Pub, Dia de los Tacos, Donckers, Landmark Inn, Marquette Food Co-op, Outlanders, Paladino’s Cafe, Root 41 Restaurant, Stucko’s Pub & Grill, and Sweet Water Cafe. Eat your fill of all kinds of delicious chili and vote! Our silent auction goods are generously provided by craftsmen and artists from around the U.P. Also, the raffle prizes were kindly donated by Patagonia Chicago. Enter for your chance to win high quality fine wool long-johns, belts, hats, t-shirts and backpacks. Music will be provided by local musicians: Elsa VanGrinsven and Mike Kantola, and will close with a lively set by Log Jam.
Support our cause, members and non-members are all welcome at this shin-dig for the ages. The entry cost is $10 (non-members) $8 (members) and includes all-you-can-eat chili. Kids under 12 eat free. Doors open at 6 pm, meeting at 6:30 – 7pm. YDWP is a registered 501(c)3 charity organization in Big Bay. It has operated since 1995 with a mission to preserve and protect the Yellow Dog Watershed, in its most natural state for use of the public, now, and for the benefit of future generations.
