Forest Inspired Beer for the Annual Meeting

Join the Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve as they celebrate their 22nd year as a successful environmental organization in Marquette County. The group will hold their Annual Meeting at Blackrocks Brewery on November 2nd as a way to engage with their supporters as well as with new faces.

 

All are welcome to attend the event and the festivities begin at 6pm with a short meeting with YDWP’s Board of Directors. The Board will discuss changes to bylaws as well as highlight the year’s activities. Afterwards, the evening will progress as an open house where people are invited to talk with the group, check out their display, and try out the forest inspired beer that Blackrocks Brewery has specially created for YDWP. Yellow Dog Watershed 19th Annual Meeting Chili Cook Off

Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve will celebrate 19 years of memories and hard work protecting of some of the most treasured places in Marquette County. Join us at our event from 6 -10:30 pm at Ore Dock Brewing Company with events to include: a chili cook off for local restaurants, the ever-popular and unique silent auction, Patagonia raffle prizes, and live local music.

We will offer donated chili from eleven restaurants around the area which will be competing in a taste testing competition voted on by you! These restaurants include: BabyCakes Muffin Company, Bayou Inn Restaurant & Pub, Dia de los Tacos, Donckers, Landmark Inn, Marquette Food Co-op, Outlanders, Paladino’s Cafe, Root 41 Restaurant, Stucko’s Pub & Grill, and Sweet Water Cafe. Eat your fill of all kinds of delicious chili and vote! Our silent auction goods are generously provided by craftsmen and artists from around the U.P. Also, the raffle prizes were kindly donated by Patagonia Chicago. Enter for your chance to win high quality fine wool long-johns, belts, hats, t-shirts and backpacks. Music will be provided by local musicians: Elsa VanGrinsven and Mike Kantola, and will close with a lively set by Log Jam.

Support our cause, members and non-members are all welcome at this shin-dig for the ages. The entry cost is $10 (non-members) $8 (members) and includes all-you-can-eat chili. Kids under 12 eat free. Doors open at 6 pm, meeting at 6:30 – 7pm. YDWP is a registered 501(c)3 charity organization in Big Bay. It has operated since 1995 with a mission to preserve and protect the Yellow Dog Watershed, in its most natural state for use of the public, now, and for the benefit of future generations.

Save the Date! Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve will be holding our annual meeting at the Ore Dock Brewing Company in Marquette on November 13, 2013. The annual general meeting will take place at 7 – 7:30 pm with events to follow into the evening. Annual Meeting Planned at YDWP’s Latest Land Acquisition

The Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve would like to invite all of our members and non-members to join us for a celebration of 17 years of community service and freshwater protection that the group has offered. The 17th Annual Meeting is a chance for people to meet the Board of Directors, staff members, and other supporters. Fall Shindig and Annual Meeting

Drew Nelson Headlines Annual Meeting

This year our annual meeting will be quite different from past years. On August 28, 2010, we will be joining up with Drew Nelson, a singer/songwriter from Michigan who is touring internationally and nationally, for an evening of fantastic music and fun. Our 15th annual meeting is co-sponsored by the Peter White Public Library and features a songwriting workshop for teens and adults at 3-5pm in the Community Room of the Peter White Library. Drew will assist participants in creating their own lyrical vision and offer encouragement. At 6pm, the Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve staff and Board of Directors will meet to have their annual review of successes and outline of future work.
